Gilchrist
Postdoctoral Fellow
Northwestern University
Annette Gilchrist is currently a
postdoctoral fellow with Dr. Heidi E. Hamm at Northwestern University in
the Institute for Neuroscience. She received her PhD in Immunology
with the University of Connecticut-Health Center, a MS in Biochemistry
from University of Connecticut, and a BS in Biology from the University
of Central Oklahoma.
Annette received an insider's view of
research in an industrial setting after receiving her Master's degree
with a job at Pfizer, where she worked in drug development until
returning to graduate school. She has been an active volunteer
with the American Heart Association "Wild about Science"
outreach program. She is currently Vice President for Public Relations
for the Chicago chapter of the Association for Women in Science as well
as designing their web page http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/Runway/7780/
.
Annette was a founding member and the
first President of the Northwestern University Institute for
Neuroscience postdoctoral organization.
