Postdoctoral Fellow
Oregon Health Sciences University - Vollum Institute
Laura S. Stone is currently a
postdoctoral fellow with Drs. E. McCleskey and J.T. Williams at the
Vollum Institute, Oregon Health Sciences University. She received her
PhD. from the U. Minnesota Graduate Program in Neuroscience with Drs. G.
Wilcox and R. Elde, and a BSc in Chemistry/Biology University of
California, San Diego.
Laura was elected and served as the
student representative to the U. Minnesota Neuroscience steering
committee. She was a member of the Sigma Delta Epsilon Chapter XI travel
award committee that provided funds for women scientists to attend
meetings. For 5 years she directed the student organization "Focus
on Animal Contributions to Science" at U. Minnesota during which
she participated in a variety of outreach activities designed to educate
the public about the role that responsible use of animals plays in
research.
