William Hu
Graduate Student
Mayo Clinic

William Hu is a 4th year MD-PhD student at Mayo Medical School & Mayo Graduate School, carrying out his thesis work under Dr. Stephen Brimijoin in the Molecular Neuroscience Program.  He graduated from University of California at Berkeley with a B.S. in Bioengineering and developed a keen interest for neuroscience in medical school.  Currently, he is busy making mice that glow in the dark.

William is actively involved in curricular review and voicing student concerns within his program.  He was the director of 1999 Mayo Medical School Career Planning Conference, a student-organized national conference focusing on career paths and options.  He served on the Minorities Affairs Committee of Minnesota Medical Association as a student member and was a delegate to the MMA.  In addition, he was an AmeriCorps volunteer and is proud to serve as an advisor for the Mayo Medical Explorers, a joint venture by the Mayo Clinic and Boy Scouts of America to expose high school students to research and medical careers.
