Mayo Clinic
William Hu is a 4th
year MD-PhD student at Mayo Medical School & Mayo Graduate School,
carrying out his thesis work under Dr. Stephen Brimijoin in the
Molecular Neuroscience Program. He
graduated from University of California at Berkeley with a B.S. in
Bioengineering and developed a keen interest for neuroscience in medical
school. Currently, he is
busy making mice that glow in the dark.
William is actively
involved in curricular review and voicing student concerns within his
program. He was the director of 1999 Mayo Medical School Career
Planning Conference, a student-organized national conference focusing on
career paths and options. He
served on the Minorities Affairs Committee of Minnesota Medical
Association as a student member and was a delegate to the MMA.
In addition, he was an AmeriCorps volunteer and is proud to serve
as an advisor for the Mayo Medical Explorers, a joint venture by the
Mayo Clinic and Boy Scouts of America to expose high school students to
research and medical careers.
