Kimberly Byrnes
Graduate Student
Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences

Kimberly Byrnes is a graduate student in the Neuroscience Program at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. She works with Dr. Juanita Anders on the treatment of spinal cord injury in adult rats with low power laser irradiation. She received her B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh.

Kimberly is actively involved in graduate student affairs at USUHS as the graduate student representative to the Graduate Education Committee. As campus representative for Science's NextWave, she co-coordinated and chaired a university-wide Career Development Workshop, focusing on different career paths in the sciences. She has also founded and chaired a Neuroscience Program Graduate Student Lunchtime Meeting Group, in which students discuss issues ranging from developing a thesis project to securing funding for their research.
