Please mark your
calendars now for the ANDP Spring Meeting in Bethesda, MD on
May 5 and May 6, 2007. This is the most important
annual meeting for those of us involved in graduate and
postdoctoral education in the neurosciences. Your
participation is important to the group's mission and is
likely to have direct impact on how you administer your
program.
An exciting program is planned for this meeting focusing on
several new and important topics. Panel sessions and
speakers directly relevant to graduate and postdoctoral
training are on tap including: Funding
Graduate Education in a Time of Declining NIH Resources; The
Role of Training Grants and Fellowships at NIMH; Where
Graduate Education Fits at ANDP and SFN; Mentoring the
Mentors; and Interactive Neuroscience Tools.
And, of course, you'll get to meet representatives from new
member programs and talk with many colleagues who share
your passion about graduate training!
You will be receiving an agenda and registration forms in
the mail in the next few weeks, and we encourage you to
register on-line at the ANDP website. The deadline to register to attend the Spring Meeting
is April 16. Registration will be $225 for the meeting, including
the banquet on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday. So
don't delay to register for this important event now.
The meeting will
be held at the Bethesda Hyatt, conveniently available from
National Airport and other DC locations on the metro
red line. The deadline to reserve your room at the
Hyatt at the ANDP rate is April 6. However, the number
of rooms available at this rate are limited and the
hotel is very popular and tends to fill up quickly.
Contact the Hyatt at (301) 657-1234 to make your
reservation as soon as possible. Watch for the
forms and plan to spend a lively and enlightening weekend. Feel
free to pass this information on to an interested colleague.
