ACTIVITIES
WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS
ANDP co-sponsors with the American
Psychological Association an NIMH-funded
Minority Fellowship Program for
supporting minority graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the
neurosciences. ANDP also works with and supports IBRO, the new Society
for Neuroscience in Africa (SONA), and sister neuroscience training
programs in Canada and Mexico. Recent initiatives include operation of
the student hospitality suite at the Society for Neuroscience meeting
and organization of a "college day" at this meeting to
acquaint local undergraduate students with careers in neuroscience. ANDP
works with the Faculty
for Undergraduate Neuroscience (FUN) organization to improve
information exchange and recruitment of new students. In addition, ANDP
supports the work of the organization, Association
for Ethnic Diversity in the Neurosciences, formerly Neuroscientists
of Color, to promote diversity in the neurosciences.
