Program Description: The Neuroscience's Ph.D. Program emphasizes interdisciplinary training at all levels of brain science: subcellular, cellular, systems and behavior. More than 70 program faculty members, both basic and clinical scientists have active research programs in specialities such as ion channels and signal transduction, developmental neurobiology, firing dynamics, cortical and subcortical organization, neuropharmacology, neuroimaging, and neural bases of language and emotion. Curriculum consists of required and elective courses that provide broad training in both conceptual frameworks and methodologies. A strong system of lab rotations allows students a research experience in several labs before the choice of dissertation sponsor is made.
