Program Description:  There are 22 laboratories at Brandeis University carrying out neuroscience research. Working in these laboratories are approximately 45-55 graduate students enrolled the following graduate programs (Neuroscience, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Physics) and 60 postdoctoral fellows.

The Neuroscience Graduate Program has three tracks:

1) Behavioral Neuroscience-Train students in cognitive neuroscience, sensory psychophysics, human mnotor control and psycholinguistics (Professors: DiZio, Fiser, Katz, Lackner, Sekuler, Wingfield)

2) Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience-Trains students in molecular biology, biophysics, and biochemistry appropriate to neurobiology. Strong emphasis on developmental and genetic mechanisms, ion channels, signal transduction, and synaptic plasticity (Professors: Agar, Birren, Garrity, Griffith, Miller, Oprian, Rosbash, Sengupta, Turrigiano, and White)

3) Computational and Integrative Neuroscience-Trains students in the use of theoretical and experiemental methods for the study of brain function. Strong emphasis on vision, learning, memory, and rhythmic pattern generation and neuromodulation (Professors: Epstein, Lisman, Marder and Nelson)
