Program Description:  The Graduate Program in Neuroscience is designed for talented, highly motivated students who are seeking state-of-the-art training to prepare them for careers as independent research scientists. It is administered in a cooperative, integrated fashion by faculties in neuroscience and cell biology, pharmacology, toxicology and psychology. Areas of specialization include gene action in the brain, membrane transport, mechanisms and regulatory controls of learning and memory, developmental neurobiology and neuroendocrinology.

Admission Requirements:  Undergraduate B average, including calculus, physics, general and organic chemistry and biology, Rutgers University admissions packet, and GRE general test scores (subject test in biology or chemistry is recommended)

Annual Tuition and Fees Costs:

NJ Residents approx. $10,000
Non-Residents approx. $17,000

Approximate Cost of Living Per Year:  $15,000

Day-Care Facilities Availability and Costs Per Month:  A variety of private nearby facilities are available.

Stipend-Assistantships and Financial Assistance:  All students are supported by Fellowships, Teaching Assistantships and Resarch Assistantships. Support is typically $24,000/year plus tuition remission.
