Program Description: The program in Neuroscience, leading to a BS degree, combines course work primarily from Biology and Psychology. Besides the standard science requirements (General Biology, Inorganic & Organic Chemistry, Calculus, Physics, Statistics, Intro to Neuroscience, Biological Bases of Behavior and Independent Research), there are two tracks; a) Cellular/Molecular Neuroscience requiring Cell Biology, Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, Genetics (Molecular) and Molecular Biology; b) Behavioral Neuroscience requiring any four courses from Psychobiology Lab, Experimental Psychology Laboratory, Learning and Conditioning, Drugs and Behavior, Sensation and Perception, or Cognitive Psychology. Students are encouraged to begin their research early in brain-behavior relationships and/or the electrophysiology of invertebrate neurons.
