Program Description: The Neuroscience major allows Tulane students to pursue an interdepartmental curriculum on the nervous system and its regulation of physiological and behavioral processes. Neuroscience at Tulane covers a broad range of study from the cellular/molecular control of brain cells to the regulation of responses in living organisms. The B.S. in Neuroscience requires 9 credits of neuroscience core courses; 12 credits of elective science courses; and 38 credits of premedical courses in other sciences and mathematics. Active participation in university research is encouraged. The Neuroscience Major fulfills the requirements for admission to graduate study in neuroscience or medical school.
Admission Requirements: Any full-time Liberal Arts and Science student at Tulane University is eligible to declare Neuroscience as a major. Acceptance to Tulane University is based on the student's secondary school grades, level and number, class ranking, extracurricular activities, standardized test scores, an admission essay and recommendations of counselors, school officials and parents.

Three years (students entering scientific fields should have four years including advanced algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and calculus.)

At least two years, preferably three of a classical or modern language.
