Program Description:   The Neuroscience Program at Cedar Crest College provides a multilevel approach to neuroscience from the molecular to the study of the mind.  Core courses provide broad intensive training, drawing heavily from both biology and psychology.  In addition, interdisciplinary neuroscience courses introduce students to the integrative nature of all aspects of neuroscience study.   The program emphasizes current research methods and laboratory techniques through laboratory courses and by providing the opportunity for direct student involvement in faculty research. Neuroscience students choose from two possible tracks: Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience and Biopsychology.  The Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience track is appropriate for students with a strong interest in the biological sciences who wish to pursue graduate or professional careers in the neuroscience and related fields.   The Biopsychology track is appropriate for students interested in psychology and behavior with a biological emphasis.  In keeping with the interdisciplinary nature of the program students in both tracks are required to take core courses in psychology, biology, chemistry and neuroscience.  In addition, seniors must complete one year of capstone research with a program faculty member.

Admission Requirements:  Students are admitted to Cedar Crest based on individual qualifications.  General admissions requirements include four years of English, three years of mathematics, two years of laboratory science, three years of social studies, two years of international language and three academic electives.
